TTP1 - Finger pier II
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has appointed Dredging International Asia Pacific (DIAP)-DAELIM Joint Venture to carry out the quay wall construction, land reclamation and related works for the Tuas Terminal Phase 1 project. Works will include reclaiming 294 hectares of land, dredging the Tuas Basin and Temasek Fairway, as well as constructing the 8,6km wharf. When completed, the 23m deep-water berths under Phase 1 will be able to handle 20 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) per annum. The entire mega-terminal will have a total capacity of up to 65 million TEUs.
DIAP awarded the geotextile installation and a large variety of subsea work to DISA International. The geotextile will be installed subsea on 221 caissons.
The DISA TUAS, a compact sized DSV equipped with an IMCA SSE system and 1600mm decompression chamber, will be utilized as the mobile and fast response platform, along with a dedicated team, to accommodate all subsea works on the finger pier II project.
